Little Winter Duets is a charming collection of three short duets for beginning recorder players. These melodies are easily approachable for late third or early fourth-grade students, yet are enjoyable for even fifth grade and beyond!

Is this sound high, medium, or low? You decide with your body! This playful song incorporates music of various styles that target high, medium, or low levels. I have my students listen to the first 30 seconds or so of the song first, and then they respond to the music by moving around the room in a level that corresponds to what they hear in the song.

Tideo is a beloved song that is sung and danced in many elementary music classrooms. It’s a song I’ve taught to every third grade class I’ve ever taught. This is an mp3 file that is found in my YouTube video that features lyrics, an instrumental play along, and a solfège sing along. This particular arrangement uses a variety of commonly found instruments that will be familiar in any Orff-Schulwerk classroom.

There was a man who lived in the moon and his name was Aiken Drum. I love this song because you can be as silly as you want with it, and it's a great way to practice steady beat. Perform the beat the way I do, or come up with your own movements!

Rhythm Review is an overview of many of the common rhythm patterns taught in elementary music classrooms. Every teacher teaches rhythm differently and in different sequences, so this may not be the exactly the way rhythm is learned in your classroom. This is the order I teach in, but it is not the only sequence out there!
